The Aragonez variety is one of the most known in the Iberian Peninsula. Original from Spain, where it has the name of "Tempranillo", it is also known as Tinta Roriz in the Douro region. This variety is very adaptable to different climates and soils, and for that its cultivation has been increasing. The ideal conditions for the variety are sandy soils and argilo-limestones in hot and dry climates. This grape originates wines with high alcoholic content, low acidity, suitable to age and very resistant to oxidation.
