This variety is cultivated in the Douro region where it is also known by Verdelho. It is characterized by the good ripening and good production. The wines produced from Gouveio are quite balanced in terms of acidity and sugar, they reveal high graduation level and intense aromas.
The bunches are of medium and compact size and the small berries of green-yellowish colour. These wines possess excellent conditions to age in the bottle.
