Planted essentially in the interior north of Portugal, in the Douro region and sub-region of Távora Varosa. It is also possible to find this variety in Portalegre, where it’s called Arinto Galego, in Dão region it is known by Assario Branco, and in Madeira the name Boal. This variety does not tolerate very high temperatures and for that it is necessary to evaluate the ideal time for the harvest, in way to avoid the deterioration of the berries. Malvasia Fina is sensitive to rottenness and to diseases. The bunches are of medium size. It produces wines with moderate acidity, delicate aromas and little complex.
